Thomas Kranz is an award-winning cybersecurity consultant, a senior security & technology leader, and an author, with more than 30 years of experience in the global cybersecurity sector. His book “Making Sense of Cybersecurity” won the bronze award in the Axiom Business Book Awards and was selected as an official entry for the Business Book Awards 2023.

As a consultant, Thomas was awarded the Gold Globee® Winner for Cybersecurity Consultant of the Year in March 2023.

Thomas has been featured on global keynote panels and industry events, where he produced and presented talks and workshops on cybersecurity strategies, digital transformation, and technology. His trusted voice has earned him a notable spot on the Forbes Technology Council.

As a consultant, Thomas provides security leadership and solutions while delivering CISO services, including cyber security strategies, roadmaps, white papers, and policies, to a wide range of private sector clients across the EMEA region. He also writes informative cybersecurity articles published in both print and digital media.

Via his cybersecurity consulting company, Thomas has delivered cybersecurity projects for UK governmental departments and private sector clients such as Citi, Alcatel-Lucent, Toyota, Fidelity, and Betfair. Thomas also worked as a CISO and Data Privacy Officer at Koala Capital, a cryptocurrency exchange start-up, and as the Security Strategy Consultant with Wallbox Chargers, providing cybersecurity strategy to the leadership team of the €1bn+ smart-charging startup.

Thomas holds CISSP, PRINCE2, AGILE, ITIL, and TOGAF certifications, elevating his rank as one of the most sought-after specialists in the industry. He has extensive knowledge of the GDPR, PCI-DSS, ISO27001, and NIST frameworks and has experience achieving strategic business outcomes while utilizing best practice frameworks. He is also pursuing an Executive MBA (EMBA) from the Swiss School of Business and Management.

Previously living in the UK, Thomas now resides in a picturesque, remote region of Italy which he likes to joke as being easier to commute to London than when he was living there. 

During his spare time, Thomas cares for his rescued dogs, cats, goats, ducks, geese, and a mischievous wild boar.
